Terms of Service

By using BabyStories you agree to the terms below. We've kept them short so they're actually readable. If a clause matters to you and isn't here, please ask before you buy a book.

What BabyStories does

BabyStories is an AI-assisted service that helps parents create personalized illustrated storybooks for their kids. You upload a small set of photos, brainstorm a story with an AI assistant, pick an art style, and we print the finished hardcover book through our fulfillment partner and ship it to your address.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. We use Clerk to handle authentication; we never see or store your password. You must be a legal adult (or have a guardian acting on your behalf) to create an account, and you confirm that you have authority to upload photos of any child featured in your book.

Payments and refunds

• Stripe handles payments. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see your full card number.
• Unlimited pre-print regenerations. You can regenerate any page as many times as you want before placing your print order. We absorb the per-image compute cost.
• Printed books are final sale. Each book is custom-made for you, so we can't restock or resell it. Once it goes into print, the order is non-refundable except in cases of printing defects or shipping damage. If something arrives damaged, email hello@babystories.ai with a photo and we'll make it right.

Who owns what

• You own your book. The final story content and illustrations you order are yours. You can scan, print, and share the finished book however you like.
• We use de-identified analytics. We may use aggregate, de-identified usage data (e.g. "X% of users picked the watercolor style") to improve the product. We never sell user-level data.
• Our software stays ours. The website, prompts, and infrastructure are licensed for use, not sold.

AI output — no warranties

BabyStories uses AI to brainstorm stories and generate illustrations. AI is best-effort — output may occasionally be off-tone, contain factual errors, or fail to match a request precisely. We run safety filters on every prompt and generated story page before showing you the result, but we can't promise zero issues. Please review every book before ordering. We don't offer warranties on AI-generated content beyond what's required by law.

Things you can't do

• Upload photos of children who aren't yours without parental consent.
• Ask our AI to produce sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise harmful content.
• Try to extract underlying model weights, scrape the site, or abuse our APIs.
• Resell finished books or sublicense the service without our written permission.

Service changes

We may add, remove, or change features over time. If a change materially affects your in-flight book or pending order, we'll honor the original terms for that order.
